Mookie May Chehy

This is Mookie May. She was our Christmas present to each other last year. She has grown quite a bit since we brought her home. When we first got her she couldn't even get into her litter box without help. We had to make stairs out of books for her.

This is Miss May after her first bath, she fell in when I was taking a bath the first week we had her. She still loves the bathtub but preferably when there is nothing in it, and she can lick the tap.

She does love to lounge with her dad, I heard she curled up under the covers all day with him today, because he was so sick last night he had to stay home today.

One thing she loves is to get into our reusable grocery bags, this could keep her busy for hours.

She would die of dehydration if we put her water in anything other then a clear glass something. This was her first water dish, however after she knocked it off of the window sill (yes that's where her water lives, not on the floor like normal pets) we traded it in for a mason jar, which seems to be much sturdier.

Mookie is just over a year old now, and she likes to keep us guessing. You don't get far in the mornings with her under your feet begging for breakfast. She does make the cutest noises!

I just finished making a 60th birthday scrapbook for a friend of mines' father. It was so great to pull out all my stuff and put this amazing book together. Here are a few pictures of the book.

We'll work from the back because that's how I loaded the pictures in... duh
The back page can be left empty or because it's his 60th maybe a nice photo of him on his birthday.

The page layouts were very simple as I didn't know how many photos or pages there were going to be. I was so excited with all of the little collage/journaling blocks in the book.

Most of the pages looked like this, they are pockets for some of the letters the girls had friends of their fathers write for the book.

It was great to get back into the creative mind set. Tomorrow is going to be a day filled with some craftiness as I get ready to visit with my peeps on Monday.

Christmas

Well Christmas this year was something else. I thought I was going to hate it. I thought it would be the worst Christmas ever. It wasn't what I thought at all. No it wasn't normal, and no it wasn't something I want to experience every year, but I didn't hate it, and it wasn't the worst ever. That is our place on Christmas morning.

This is our cat Mookie. She lived under the tree and this is where we found her Christmas morning. So we opened our gifts at our apartment, no pics of that as I was too excited about my wii fit to take any photos and then we had to leave right away so we could make it to Katie and Jeff's place before the kids started opening their gifts.

And who can argue with this, how cute is this baby. My niece she didn't even know what was going on, but she's so cute it doesn't matter.

And my nephew Ryan, he's five and what fun he was tearing through his many gifts having such a great time showing everyone what he got.

And this, the final picture from Christmas, it wasn't so bad not being at my mom's place for the opening gifts anyway.

When we did finally finish up at Katie's place we had a delicious breakfast and headed out to the valley to spend the rest of our Christmas. Once we arrived there is was time to open more gifts and if that wasn't enough, Ria and her crew arrived shortly after and it was another gift opening extravagazna. I would love to share some photos with you but as I said the above is the final picture as the camera did make it to the car, however did NOT make it into the house. (I have to make sure I "fit" photography in a little better). Dinner at moms was fantastic, the turkey was the best we've had that anyone can remember. I would love to tell you more, but as I got a little tipsy this year (everyone has a turn) I can't quite recall the deets.

All in all this Christmas didn't SUCK, but I it isn't something I'm ready to get used to!

Turkey

My first turkey dinner. I've made chicken before, but this is the first time I have attempted turkey and let me tell you 20lbs is BIG!

Stephen invited the "boys" over for dinner and what a blast.

They always make me feel like I'm the best cook in the universe.

We have plenty of leftovers.

I'm
going to attempt soup tomorrow, who knows what that will bring. It was a perfect end to my 5 days off. Hopefully it will give me some extra energy to start the week off with a bang!

Fit

So here it goes. This is the beginning of the end. Today I visited Amy's new blog, she and I have been on the same team for a while, not having a blog and low and behold she has begun one. Therefore I felt it must be time for me as well. We do this fun little thing every year, we choose a word and we take that word and we try to live by it for the year. I have chosen my word "Fit" partly because I got the Wii Fit for Christmas (I almost got two as my husband and my father wanted to give me one). And partly because I've been thinking about what that word means to me. There are many days lately that I haven't felt "fit" and there is only one way to take care of that, and it's to work hard towards a goal of being more "fit" and to do that I must "fit" some changes into my life. Some other things I've been thinking about is the lack of time I have made to be creative. I would like to "fit" more of that into my life. There are many other reasons to choose this word, it's short... it's fun... it's cute... but really it's because of the fun fabulous toy I have in my living room that I can play with everyday and I can't wait to see me get FIT! No pics today but we'll see what I can do about that for my next post!
